As an dedicated New Jersey Divorce Lawyer, I am often asked which county one should file for divorce in. In New Jersey, when you’re filing a divorce complaint, the county that it’s going to be heard in is where you reside. If the parties reside in different counties, then it can be filed in either county where either party has been a resident for at least a year.
